  • An unnamed British officer at Fort Halifax, Maine, in 1766 apparently wrote an account of the Leonard Cotten family which was apparently given to Leonard's son John who was stationed there as a petty officer in the Provincial Forces. This account would seem to contain some errors in regards to wives and connections to the family of Lord John Lisle. However other parts of the account appear to hold true. Any information taken from this account should be verified by other sources before used.
