- Notes:
Robert Patton is said to have been a native of Aberdeen, Scotland. A criminal who escaped Scotland to the southern colonies in the 1760's. His true name is unknown and he is said to have taken the name Robert Patton as an alias. He apparently chose the name Patton as it was a popular alias among Scots immigrants and a declaration among former rebels of their declaration of service to the king, who in this case was Charles Stuart and not King George.
