  • Notes: 

  • William Narramore lost his eye in an accident while he was working in a stone quarry. He was driving a steel splitting wedge with a sledge hammer when a large sliver of steel flew up and buried itself in his left eye. A doctor used magnets and a pair of pinchers to extract the steel which was an inch long and a quarter of an inch wide.
