- Notes:
Electa Deland's death is found in multiple town registers in both Great Barrington and Sheffield indicating her death occurred in Great Barrington. There is one entry in a Sheffield death register that was entered 23 JAN 1856, six months after her death, that gives her parents' names as possibly Thomas and Hannah Deland (the microfilmed image is difficult to read) indicating she was possibly a cousin of her husband. The image of this record can be found in Ancestry.com's database Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988 under Sheffield - Births, Marriages and Death, image 676 of 1470. However, some online genealogies claim that Electa's maiden name was Wells and not Deland. More research is needed to resolve this issue.
