  • Some sources claim that Rebecca is the daughter of Edmund Hobart and Margaret Dewey. She is apparently identified in a diary of the Rev. Peter Hobart, but transcripts of this diary do not contain such an entry. Either the diary was misquoted, or the entry never existed. In either case, Rebecca's maiden name must still be considered unknown.
