- Notes:
Some online sources incorrectly claim that Sophronia Oakes was the daughter of Uriah Oakes and Charlotte Floyd. This can be proven false as her death record gives her father as Josiah and not Uriah. Also Sophronia's husband Amory Houghton, founder of Corning Glass Works, was appointed guardian of her father Josiah when he was declared insane and sent to the McLean Asylum. Both Amory and Sophronia appear in the court records regarding her father Josiah.
