    • Notes:
    • The parentage for Eliza is somewhat circumstantial based on her maiden name and where she lived and was married. There were three Covey brothers who settled in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Edward, William, and Jonathan.

Edward was almost certainly not Eliza's father. He is mentioned in The Biographical Record of McLean County, Illinois (publ. 1899, p. 275). The Walter Covey Ancestry published in 1971 states that he had 10 children, all of which are named and do not include Eliza.

William Covey does not appear to be Eliza's father. The 1820 Federal Census only gives him two daughters under the age of 10 which are all too young to be Eliza.

Jonathan Covey is almost certainly Eliza's father. The 1810 Federal Census states that he has two daughters under the age of 10. Eliza would have been aged about 7 at the time.

More evidence is needed to support her parentage.
