  • Abigail Cowing, wife of Newcomb Stevens of Litchfield, Maine, was probably the daughter of Calvin and Elizabeth (Coombs) Cowing. Circumstantial evidence supporting this is that Calvin's daughter, and Abigail's sister, Deborah also lived in Litchfield, and both Deborah and Abigail are buried in the North Litchfield Cemetery. Also, Abigail named some of her children Calvin, Deborah, Christiana, Daniel and Betsey, all names found in Calvin and Elizabeth's family.
