Singer and Songwriter
Rob Cantor, born on August 26, 1983, hails from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. His journey into music began during his college years at the University of Michigan, where he co-founded the indie rock band Tally Hall.
Tally Hall, known for their quirky charm and colorful necktie attire, released two full-length albums: “Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum” (2005) and “Good & Evil” (2011). Cantor’s role as lead guitarist and vocalist contributed to the band’s unique sound.
However, Cantor’s solo ventures showcased his individual artistry. His album “Not a Trampoline” (2014) demonstrated his wit and musical versatility. Yet, it was a viral comedy song that truly catapulted him into internet stardom. In “Shia LaBeouf”, Cantor humorously portrayed actor Shia LaBeouf as a cannibalistic serial killer—an unexpected blend of dark humor and catchy tunes.
Beyond music, Cantor’s creativity spilled over into viral videos. He imagined Christian Bale crashing your party and brought us the unforgettable “Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf”. His ability to seamlessly blend music and comedy resonated with audiences worldwide.
Rob Cantor’s legacy lies in his ability to infuse indie rock with humor, leaving an indelible mark on both Tally Hall fans and internet culture. From yellow ties to cannibalistic Shia, his musical journey continues to captivate.
