In the 1880 census she appears at Cornville, Maine, as Almeda Hoxie, a housekeeper for Daniel and Susan Moody. She also appears in the census at St. Albans with her mother Mary and brother Fred. Almeda also appears at St. Albans by herself on the census's schedule for homeless children, and with her mother and brother where they appear on the page for pauper and indigent inhabitants where it states they are supported by the town,
