  • The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants to the American Colonies or the United States by Gary Boyd Roberts states that Richard Branch married Elizabeth Bostock, a direct descendant of King Henry I. However most sources, including those listed by Boyd's book, point to Richard's wife being an Elizabeth Beauforest. However, there apparently is one reference where Elizabeth names Humphrey Bostock, her "broder" as the overseer of Richard's will. It is apparently this reference that has led someone to believe that Elizabeth is a Bostock and not a Beauforest.

    Even with Elizabeth being a Beauforest, there is still a direct descent in the family from King Henry I through the Bostocks, but this is through Richard's son William's wife, Catherine Jennings whose paternal grandmother was Joan Bostock, daughter of George and Joan (Horne) Bostock.
