According to the book Foster Child: A Biography of Jodie Foster written by Jodie's brother Buddy in 1997, Lucius Foster and Evelyn Almond were married in Tijuana, Mexico. However, an article written in 1976 about Jodie's mother Evelyn states that they were married in Las Vegas in 1953.
Evelyn is listed in the 1930 census as the “adopted” daughter of John and Lucy Almond. According to Evelyn's son Buddy Foster in his book Foster Child, Evelyn was the illegitimate daughter of Josie Almond, a cousin of John Almond.
