  • All of the transcriptions for the Guilford Vital Records give younger sister Marcy's name as Mary. Marcy was born 01 MAY 1674. A closer inspection of the original in the possession of the Guilford Town Clerk shows that the Mary's younger sister's name was Marcy and not Mary. There also is no death record for Mary indicating that she died young. It is likely that researchers made that claim when they thought an younger sister named Mary was born in 1674. So it was this Mary born in 1661 who married John Munger in 1684. Younger sister Marcy was only ten years old at the time of that marriage.
