  • Published sources seem to disagree on which wife of Gideon Curtiss was the mother of which children. There are three children recorded in Connecticut that are the children of his first wife Polly Rice. It would appear that the children born after he moved to New York were the children of his second wife Ruth Day. If true, he would have married Ruth prior to his daughter Caroline's birth, perhaps about 1807.
