  • Mayhew Folger was the captain of the sealing ship Topaz when he rediscovered the Pitcairn Islands in 1808. In 1790 mutineers from the HMS Bounty settled on Pitcairn Island. The only mutineer still living in 1808 when Capt. Folger arrived was Jack Adams.
