  • Although the Robert Adams genealogy produced by Andrew Napolean Adams in 1900 mentions a Mercy Adams who married a “Ethan David Clark,” he does not claim that she was the daughter of Jacob Adams although he puts her in the footnotes as though suggesting the possibility. However he suggests the possibility of this Mercy Adams being the wife of Thomas Savary when he asks it as a question. However a transcription of the Sheffield Vital Records for David Clark and Mercy Adams's family state that Mercy was the daughter of Jacob Adams. Unless other evidence appears, the most likely scenario seems that the Mercy Adams who married David Clark is the daughter of Jacob Adams.
