  • Some 19th and early 20th century published sources give the husband of Emma Tateshale as Osbert de Cailly, while others as Adam de Cailly, son of Osbert. More recent published sources agree with her husband being Adam and his father being Osbert. This agrees with a pedigree submitted in a court case where John Knyvet sued Thomas Freman for the manor of Little Waltham “which Robert Tateshale had given to Adam, son of Osbert Cayly, in frank marriage with Emma, his sister.”
