  • On page 430 in Gary Boyd Roberts's Ancestors of American Presidents (2009), a chart shows William Spencer as the son of Henry and Isabella (Lincoln) Spencer. All the sources that I have found on William Spencer indicates that he is the grandson of Henry and Isabella and not their son. In those sources he is listed as the son of Sir John Spencer and Anne Empson. Without sources to support the chart by Roberts, I have to assume that it is in error.
