    • Miles Cary is believed to have died from wounds suffered during a raid by the Dutch in 1667. The Dutch sailed five warships into Hampton Roads and sank the British guardship Elizabeth and captured a number of merchant ships loaded with tobacco that was about to be shipped to England.
