- Notes:
Richard Stockton is said to have possibly been the son of Richard and Dorothy Stockton and grandson of Randall Stockton of London. Randall Stockton is said to be a son of John and Eleanor Stockton and grandson of Thomas Stockton of Keddington, Cheshire, England, and a descendant of Sir John Stockton, Lord of Stockton Manor, Malpas Parish, Cheshire, England. Sir John Stockton was the Lord Mayor of London in 1470-71. Some published sources give a different descent for Richard Stockton from the Stockton family of Keddington. Evidence is needed to support any of these claims.
