  • Some published sources state that Anne Pickering was the daughter of Sir James Pickering of Killington. He was actually her grandfather, as her father was his son Sir Chrisopher Pickering. One such source, The History and Topography of the Counties of Cumberland and Westmoreland gives Sir Christopher as the father of Anne and son of Sir James on p. 257, while incorrectly giving Anne's father as Sir James on p. 292.
