  • Claims that Susanna is the daughter of John Briggs and Sarah Cornell are false. Susanna's maiden name is unknown. An article in the Mayflower Quarterly (50:188-190) was problematic as the author is said to have misunderstood the meaning of the term son-in-law in an historical context.
