  • In the New England Historical and Biographical Record (1901, Vol. 55, pp. 107-108) a will dated 01 DEC 1660 was given for Abigail Salter, wife of George Salter. However, two years later that same publication referred to the will as belonging to Elizabeth Salter and not Abigail. That same article also gives evidence with regards to Elizabeth's marriage to George Salter, and that her parents were Rev. Humphrey Munning and Elizabeth Winthrop. The baptisms of their children mentioned in the will are also given. The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record (1910, Vol. 41, p. 278) examined the same will and referred to it as the will of Elizabeth Salter. Thus it would appear that the initial attribution of the will belonging to Abigail Salter was a mistake.
