      Born Richard Treat Williams on December 1, 1951, in Rowayton, Connecticut, Williams was an American actor who discovered his passion for acting during his college years at Franklin and Marshall College.

      Williams made his breakthrough in the 1970s when he earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of Danny Zuko in the hit musical "Grease" on Broadway. This led to his transition to the silver screen, where he showcased his talent in films such as "Hair" (1979) and "Prince of the City" (1981), earning him recognition as a versatile actor capable of delivering powerful and nuanced performances.

      Throughout his career, Treat Williams seamlessly moved between genres, demonstrating his versatility as an actor. He has excelled in action films like "Dead Heat" (1988) and "The Phantom" (1996), where he captivated audiences with his intensity and physicality. In dramas such as "Once Upon a Time in America" (1984) and "Smooth Talk" (1985), Williams showcased his ability to portray complex characters with depth and emotional authenticity.

      In addition to his film work, Williams made notable appearances on television. His role as Dr. Andy Brown in the critically acclaimed series "Everwood" (2002-2006) solidified his status as a beloved TV actor.
