Some sources list Henry Ingalls's birth location as Cumberland, Rhode Island, which was originally settled as part of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Cumberland was incorporated in 1746, seven years after Henry's birth. The land comprising Cumberland was transferred to Rhode Island as part of a long running boundary dispute.
