Dr. Antoine Francois Saugrain is said to have came to the United States on the advice of Benjamin Franklin who was a minister to France at the time.
Dr. Antoine Saugrain was the brother-in-law of Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotine, proponent of the beheading device that bears his name. Dr. Guillotine had married Dr. Saugrain's sister Louise.
