  • Elizabeth Taliaferro is often claimed to be the daughter of Lt. Col. William Taliaferro (1710-1778). However the D.A.R. no longer accepts this. The William Taliaferro who is reportedly Elizabeth's father is said to have died in 1760. Lieutenant Colonel William Taliaferro died in 1778.
