    • The obituary for Reuben Partridge is not reliable with regards to the locations of events. It says he was born in Windsor, Connecticut, at a time when his parents were living in Thetford, Vermont. However, his mother was born in Windsor, Connecticut, and this may have been the source of the confusion. The 1850 U. S. federal census supports Vermont as his birth location. Both his older brother Harper and his younger sister Caroline were said to have been born in Thetford, Vermont, so it seems likely that he was born there as well. His obituary also says he married his wife Annie in Hagerstown, Maryland, when it actually occurred in Indiana.
