Charles V. Lansil's name is given as John Lancelee in his marriage record and in a Mayflower Society membership application. It seems almost certain that they are the same man as both are said to have been born in Bordeaux, France, about 1768, and died in Maine in 1831, and were married to Ruth Cobb Paine contemporaneously.
