Death notice in the Times-Picayune says that George Packwood was a native of New London, Connecticut and had been a resident of the state of Louisiana for 48 years. This would indicate he moved to the state around 1806.
George Packwood's tombstone gives his birth year as 1774, however the New London vital records (Barbour Collection) has it as 1773.
