- Notes:
Ralph Morden was hanged as a traitor to Pennsylvania during the American Revolution. His widow Anne and several of their children were given two hundred acres of land by the British government after they moved to Canada with other loyalists.
The only contemporary account of Ralph Morden's execution appears to be by a British POW named Thomas Hughes. Hughes wrote the following in his journal, "A man was hanged this morning for piloting some people through the back woods, to the Indians. He was very old and left a wife and 9 children. His death was chiefly owing to his being noted a friend of Government."
