Norman Sharp died after accidently shooting himself in the arm on 20 SEP 1846 during the march of the Mormon Battalion from Nauvoo, Illinois, to Pueblo, Colorado. He was left behind to be cared for by some Arapaho Indians. He died four days later from his wounds. He was buried in an unmarked grave near the Arkansas River.
