Robert Elliott fought for the Union Army during the U. S. Civil War. He was wounded on August 30, 1862 at the Second Battle of Bull Run in Virginia. He died during the Battle of Totopotomoy Creek (aka Battle of Bethesda Church) in Hanover County, Virginia, on May 30, 1864.
