    Mercy Short survived a 1689 Indian attack on Salmon Falls, New Hampshire, that left her parents and three siblings dead. She was captured and redeemed.

    Mercy Short was “bewitched” by one of the 1692 Salem witchcraft defendants. She was cured with prayer by Rev. Cotton Mather.
