  • Some sources list Zacharia and Sarah Whitman, who came over on the ship Truelove in 1635, as the parents of Joseph Whitman. Robert Charles Anderson's "The Great Migration" series does not confirm this. The only known child of Zachariah and Sarah Whitman is their son Zachariah. Their son is believed to have died before he was 8 years old as he is not found in their household in 1640.
