    • Jabez Hammond's is recorded twice in the New Bedford vital records. Once with the date 28 AUG 1809 and once with the date 06 SEP 1809. The latter date is said to have been an abridged abstract copied into the town books from the records of the Friends Monthly Meeting. This latter date may have been a burial date as it is also the date that Jabez's obituary appears in the Columbian Centinel.
