Peter Worden's marriage to Rachel Hale is recorded at both Bernardston, Massachusetts, and Halifax, Vermont. The latter gives the marriage date as 17 SEP 1788 and the former 30 AUG 1788. The former appears to be the correct date as reported in the Worden book by O. N. Worden in 1868. The book mentions that Rachel was still alive and reportedly living with her two elder sons. It is possible that the earlier date was a marriage intention.
