    • Notes:
    • While there are published sources that state that Joanna Haskell, wife of Samuel Wing, was the daughter of Mark Haskell and Mary Spooner, born at Rochester in 1737, and therefore has a Mayflower descent through Mary Spooner, others claim she was the daughter of Ephraim (brother of Mark) and Mehittable (Tobey) Haskell, born at Rochester in 1740. Joanna's tombstone says she died “in the 29th year of her age.” This would indicate she was born about 1740 and would point to father being Ephraim Haskell. Supporting this is a book titled Historical Sketches by Jabez Haskell Hayden, grandson of Jabez Haskell (brother of Joanna) and great-grandson of Ephraim Haskell. In his book about his family, he refers to Joanna Haskell, wife of Samuel Wing, Jr., as the "sister of Jabez Haskell [b1746] and Mrs. Seth Dexter," the latter referring to Deborah Haskell [b1743]. (see page 127).
