  • There is some recent opposition to claims that Dr. Angus Bethune is the son of Dr. Peter Bethune, and a descendant of John Bethune, 5th Laird of Balfour. The new theory is that Dr. Angus Bethune descends from the MacBeths of Islay whose roots trace back to Ireland.
