Dr. August W. von Benzon, a dentist, was accidentally killed while hunting rabbits with a shotgun. He shot and wounded a rabbit. Forgetting that there was another charge in the gun, he raised it and struck the suffering animal on the head. The second charge was discharged and horribly mutilated the doctor's chest. He was carried to a nearby farmhouse where he died a few minutes later.
