    Susan Dey was born on December 10, 1952 in Pekin, Illinois. She rose to fame as Laurie Partridge in the musical sitcom "The Partridge Family" during the early 1970s. From 1986 to 1992, she took on the role of Grace Van Owen on the legal drama series "L.A. Law," earning critical acclaim, multiple Emmy nominations, and a Golden Globe Award. She also successfully transitioned to film, starring in movies like "Looker" (1981) and "Echo Park" (1986).

    Outside of acting, Dey has been involved in philanthropic endeavors, advocating for causes such as mental health awareness and education. She serves as a board member of the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA Medical Center and, in 1990, co-narrated a documentary on campus rape with former L.A. Law star Corbin Bernsen.
