      Tia Mowry's twin sister Tamera appeared in 2023 on the PBS show Finding Your Roots where it was revealed that she descended from Mayflower passenger William Brewster. However, although she is a descendant of William Brewster, the pedigree chart that was shown on screen had two generations incorrect. First, she descends from her ancestor Joel McKinney's first wife Lydia McKinney and not his second wife Mary Pease. Second, Joel is not the son of Thomas McKinney Jr. and a wife Hannah. Joel is Thomas's brother, and the son of Thomas McKinney Sr. and his wife Mary Hinckley. Also, Joel's brother Thomas brother is known to have had only two wives, Sarah Lamb and Lydia Lamb. Lydia was the niece of Sarah.
