The switch from the Julian to Gregorian calendars in 1752 appears to have caused some confusion with the birthdate of Jacob Winn. A transcription of the date in the Woburn birth records in Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850 gives the date as 20 OCT 1744. Other sources give 31 10 mo. 1744 as the date. If 20 OCT 1744 is the correct date according to the Julian calendar, then 31 OCT 1744 would be the date according to the Gregorian. However if the date was entered as 31 10 mo. 1744 prior to 1752, then it would appear that 31 DEC 1744 would be the date according to the Julian calendar. I have used the date from the vital records, but some skepticism remains as to the exact date.
