George Hardy Lancaster committed suicide by hanging himself. Original death certificate gave the date of death as "about 23 APR 1946" but a corrected death certificate gives the date of death as 23 APR 1946.
George Hardy Lancaster's death certificate gives his birth year as 1862 while his tombstone has 1863. However, the death certificate also gives his age in years, months and days which do not add up to the birth and death dates given. It is believed that the 1862 year was given in error.
