    • Notes:
    • Although Dr. Matthew Fuller didn't arrive in Plymouth Colony until as late as 1640, he was long considered a son of Mayflower passenger Edward Fuller and his unnamed wife. However, a Y-DNA study whose results were published in the Summer 2022 edition of the Mayflower Descendant proved that Matthew Fuller was not the son of Edward Fuller.

It was then hypothesized that Matthew Fuller was the son of Edward Fuller's unnamed wife and a Fuller kinsman of Edward and his brother Samuel. This would make Matthew the stepson of Edward Fuller and his descendants would still be descendants of a Mayflower passenger, only it would be through Edward Fuller's unnamed wife and not Edward Fuller himself.

In light of the new DNA evidence and the new proposed parentage of Matthew Fuller, an article in the Summer 2024 edition of the Mayflower Descendant reexamined the Fuller family of Redenhall and the past scholarship and proposed a new and more likely origin for Matthew Fuller. This reexamination of the evidence identifies Matthew Fuller as the son of John Fuller of Redenhall who was baptized there on 24 FEB 1613. Therefore, the descendants of Matthew Fuller are no longer considered Mayflower descendants through their descent from Matthew.
