Although George Scott's 1936 death certificate lists his birthplace as Franklin, Virginia, his son George Randolph Scott listed his father's birthplace as Norfolk, Virginia, in his application for a passport in 1922. The information on the death certificate was given by George's wife Lucy.
Some documents list the birthdate of George Scott as 12 DEC 1866, however his tombstone has 02 DEC 1869.
