- Notes:
John Sprague was listed as a son of John and Ruth (Bassett) Sprague in a couple of court documents. However, the NEHGS's Christopher Challender Child has shown through a Y-DNA analysis that John Sprague senior was not the biological father, but rather Samuel Fuller (b.c. 1630), or his father Matthew Fuller (d. 1678). Based on the fact that Samuel was unmarried in 1655 and closer in age to Ruth Bassett, it seems more likely that he was the father.
