    • Elizabeth (Power) Johnston was shot and killed by Indians during the French and Indian Wars. The story can be found in Nathan Johnston's Looking Back from the Sunset Land or People Worth Knowing (1898).

Although Elizabeth Power's parents are unknown, Elizabeth was said to be the aunt of the Rev. James Power, the first Presbyterian minister to settle west of the Allegheny mountains. James Power was said to be born in 1746 at Nottingham in Chester County, Pennsylvania and died in 1830. His father is said to have settled in Chester County, Pennsylvania, after emigrating from Ireland.
