    • Penelope Van Princess's maiden name is also seen as Van Princis. She is said to have come to New Jersey about 1640 where the ship she was on was shipwrecked. A husband prior to Richard Stout was said to be with her and upon swimming to shore during the wreck was killed by Indians. Peneloped was injured and taken by the Indians and nursed back to health.
