  • There are a number of claims made by sources stating that Thomas Simmons was the son of Moses Simmons (Simonson) who arrived in New England aboard the Fortune in 1621. In 1935 Raymon Meyers Tingley even went so far as to fabricate documents to support this claim. Without legitimate evidence, the parentage for Thomas Simmons has to be considered as unknown.
